The Black Beauty is a 1983 TR4 hull, and has run a best ET of 8.02 @ 130mph. It was built by Brian Jerdin of Pioneer Automotive Machine in Paso Robles.
The current engine is a 489? (4.28 X 4.25) BBC. It has a Crower mid weight crank, Crower mid weight billet rods, JE pistons (8.5 : 1), Crower roller cam and severe duty lifters. Smith Bros. pushrods, Crower shaft rockers, Brodix BB2X w/ M2 cnc porting. RCD gear drive and fuel pump support. Enderle fuel pump and Mike Kuhl water pump. Mallory Super Mag 2. Littlefield stage 3 871, manifold and drive. It has a split case Casale v-drive with lightened 25% overdrive gears. The prop is an 11 x 16 Menkens. Crank, pistons, cam, lifters, bearings, etc. have 16 runs plus very little lake time. Rods have 4 runs. Heads and rockers are fresh.
It has been run on LL100 Av gas, 110 and 114 race gas. It may run on 91 with 0 blower OD and a little tolulene. It includes a new tow cover that has never been used.
