I bought this 1965 Hallett late last year to run as a drag boat this season, but have gone another direction, so it's up for sale. Wood deck was rebuilt and done in white gelcoat in 2010-2011 by the previous owner, and used as a lake boat in 2012 with a 327 Chevy. When he sold it, it went to Oregon and apparently sat outside after being robbed of the engine and fuel tanks. Everything else is there.
It has a Casale Parallel drive with Whirl-away, drivelines, prop, and covers, steering, tach, and 2 seats (one fiberglass bucket, the other a more square wood seat, but upholstery matches). Steering pulley mounts are Hallcraft cast pieces, has down pedal and split Cav plates. Hardware is all nice stuff. The bad: Needs stringers re-wrapped (disbonded), and a 6-8" wide section of the right floor by the stringer has disbonded, but the wood is not discolored, just needs to be dried and reglassed. It also has some seam cracks where the deck and hull are bonded.
Trailer is a 1976 Special construction. It is nicely built all aluminum 2x2" tubing, except the hitch and the suspension carriage. Springs and axles are chrome, has grease fittings on all pivot bolts, good tires (stock steel wheels). Would be very easy to make into dolly trailer!! There are no fenders or lights...
I also have an original '58-62 Chevy 283 with all period correct parts, except the carb and intake (Holley Streetmaster and an Edelbock AFB). Engine runs great, no smoke or noises (except the factory solid lifters).
If bought as a combined package it will include nearly everything to put it back on the water, except fuel tanks. I know the parts are worth quite a bit more than the combined price, but I would like to see this one put back together and used, instead of parting it out. Clear Washington Titles on Boat and Trailer!
Asking $2000 for everything, OR will sell boat and trailer for $1250, and engine as a complete drop in for $1000. Located in the Tacoma, Washington area, can deliver in Washington/ western Oregon for fuel cost, or meet at the OR/CA border rest area and hand off if going farther south.
I do have quite a few more pic's, so if there is something particular you want to see let me know.
