First off the Flir M-320L marine night vision camera combines two night vision cameras in one
a thermal imaging camera and a low light camera. Basically if you are navigating with a little light, e.g. in twilight or within the confines of a dimly lite marina then the low light camera will function extremely well. In total darkness then the thermal imaging camera needs to be used.
The night vision camera each have two video outputs. You have the choice of viewing both camera images at the same time (two monitors are required), or you can switch between the two images, or you just view the image that suits best.
The M-320L are comprised of two operating elements. First
the camera operating unit. This would generally be mounted at a convenient spot on the vessel facing forwards at the optimal position which gives the best field of view. And second, the camera unit is controlled by a remote Joystick Control Unit (JCU) which operates the pan and tilt functionality.
The cameras will scan a full circle (360 degrees) and will tilt up or down by +/- 90 degrees.
