As the second owner in 2009, I inherited this boat from the first owner, my late brother who ordered and purchased this boat new from Parker Marine, Alton Bay NH in 1986. My brother was ASE Master Certified in both automotive mechanical and Body Repair (ASE double master).
Persons familiar with the construction understand that originally the boats lacked proper material and construction practices that avoided costly internal hull damage by the elements. In 2001 as extensive as it was, my brother professionally underwent the process of cutting out any ?cancer? from the interior and rebuilding and reinforcing properly with marine ply before any damage. The accompanying pictures will show (sorry for the poor quality pictures. I will supply the originals, less negatives.) The engine was removed and gone through adding new rod & bearings, oil pump, remote filter and deep sump pan to the best of my recollection. He did not have the time to complete the restoration and the boat sat for several years. What remains is lacking new carpet and new upholstery (includes extra set of original bucket seats) and exterior repainting. Paint is presentable. The boat has been garaged since I purchased it. Trailer is serviceable, but rough. Axle bearings and tires all new in 2009. Since then I have replaced the fuel sender and rebuilt the carburetor. All gauges, lights, accessories and running gear are operational. I may have run through 5 or 6 tanks of fuel since, as the boat is seldom used but runs fine and needs a good home.
