I've a lightly used standalone watermaker for sale. No plumbing-in required as it's self-contained and free-standing. I used it to sail across the Pacific and it came in very handy where remote islands had limited water supply, plus it saved having to carry containers of water from the shore by dinghy.
It's a Rainman watermaker made in Australia - you can check out www.rainmandesal.com - it consists of 2 units: 1. Pressure Supply Unit which is built around the very reliable gas/petrol-driven Honda 4-stroke engine. 2. Reverse Osmosis Unit which is their compact model consisting of 2 x 21" reverse osmosis membranes. The ouput is 50-70 litres per hour (12 - 16 gallons per hour). In the clear waters of the pacific I was easily achieving the upper range of performance.
It comes complete with a host of spares
including electronic hydrotester (for checking purity of output clean water), replacement impellor, spare reverse osmosis membranes and pickling solution.
We'd set up running once a fortnight while in a comfortable anchorage it let it top up our tanks. I say it is lightly used
as it's done less than 100 hours (over the course of a 6-month season of sailing using it for ~8 hours every 2 weeks).
I'm only selling it as my yacht is for sale since I need to be shore based for little while (more's the pity!)
The price is 50% off new price at USD 2,989
(new price is USD 5,978). The entire watermaker (both units) are in a single shipping box inHong Kong which is a logistics hub, so they can be shipped worldwide in 1-2 weeks.
