Selling my 2010 R3. I am the 2nd owner of this beautiful car. I purchased it from Mazda Dealer in San Antonio Texas last year. It was a locally owned, 1 owner car prior to me purchasing it.
I have had 2 Sti's, a Nismo 350z, an s14 240 with an rb26 swap, and a Lotus Exige, along with others in between. This car most closely resembles the Lotus' diving characteristics and steering feel. Of course, it is not as light as the Exige, but, has usable back seats and is more composed on the road. It obviously won't win many drag races, but is an absolute blast on the track. I have done one HPDE day in the car at VIR last year. This is my 2nd RX8 (used to have an 04 back in the day), and the series 2 (2009-2011) have received thoughtful and useful improvements by Mazda. The big one is the added oil injector to increase apex seal lubrication. Also, this car still us under the 8 year 100k factory powertrain warranty, which is good until 2019 as the car was first sold in 2011.
The R3 is a great track car right out of the box. Recaro seats are standard, as well as Bilstein Shocks and a polyurethane filled cross member, and beautiful 19 inch wheels. I have tried to point out the imperfections in the photos. In case they are hard to see, there is a small dent in the passenger side rear quarter panel, a light scratch on the hood, and some kind of imperfection that I have never been able to quite figure out on the hood as well.
I am selling the car because we are expecting in January and I have purchased an Outback for the wife.
Since I've owned it I have done the following, all roughly around 30k miles.
BHR Ignition Kit and Plugs. Mazda plugs and coils are weak from the factory and all responsible RX8 owners view this upgrade as the most important thing you can do to the car.
Redline Transmission Fluid
Redline Diff Fluid
Carbotech Pads front and rear
Motul RBF 600
Hotchkis Front Sway Bar
Michelin Pilot Super Sports (approx 3k miles on them. installed around 33k miles)
Oil changes every 3k miles or less.
I have receipts for all the work and parts for this car.
Approx 6 ounces Idemitsu Premix with every fill up. Not necessary. But, as rotaries are designed to burn oil, this adds an extra layer of lubrication for the apex seals.
Serious offers only please. Feel free to post or PM me any questions. Not interested in a trade at this time.
