For sale is my 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4. It has recently had a lot of work done including a fully rebuilt engine, climate control/AC redone, and tons more. I put a lot of money into this car to set up for a long term ownership, then the slope got more slippery as I went.
Now, its for sale because my plans have changed, and I really only have room for one 911. I was unexpectedly able to get back an old one I sold ten years ago that should have never gotten away.
Heres the scoop:
Mileage: 187,xxx (on body) rebuilt engine has under 600 miles.
Asking price: $36,300 obo.

The 3.6 liter engine was completely rebuilt two months ago by Bob Woodman in Beaufort, SC, who is very well known for his quality. The engine didnt just receive a top end, but a total overhaul. During the rebuild, there was a new clutch, new flywheel, and clutch cylinder installed. Also, all new belts, and power steering pump was rebuilt. Theres plenty more items replaced that I have receipts for. Grand total was around the $20k range.
Also, the Climate Control Unit was sent off and rebuilt, and the air conditioner was serviced, and is blowing cold. The car is running great; the engine was broken in by Bobs shop, and is ready to drive with fresh oil and filter. I have receipts for all of the work done. The transmission shifts into every gear without grinding, and recently had fresh synthetic oil roughly 3k miles ago. It was told to me by Woodman that it shifts a little stiff into gears, but I was told it wasnt a big deal for me DD this car. Also, no idle gremlins, dash lights, or codes coming up.
The suspension has newer Bilstein HDs on all four corners with Eibach springs. Brand new Firestone Firehawk tires were installed during the engine rebuild. The pads, rotors, and stainless lines were redone less than 2500 miles ago, and the AWD system was flushed recently. The ABS and Diff lock are also functioning, as they shouldalso recently bled. The D90s are in good shape for original finish, and no bends, rash, or warps.
The black interior is mostly original, except RS carpet and a genuine leather headliner that were replaced roughly four years ago. The seats, dash, door cards, and rear deck are original and in good shape for being new in 1990. Sunroof was recently gone through and lubricated, but needs a new seal.
Exterior wise, the white paint is in great driver condition with a few chips here and there. It was a quality repaint done about four years ago. I also have receipts for that. It is worth noting that the car was originally linen grey.
This is a nearly stock 964 with the exception of a genuine RUF front lip, Eibach sport springs, cup exhaust pipe, and a Fabspeed intake box/ K&N filter. Other than that, the car is stock. Engine rebuild was also to stock spec.
The car doesnt need many things to be mechanically excellent. The odometer stopped working right before the engine rebuild, and needs to be sent off to have a new gear installed. There is a CV boot tear. Also the sunroof panel needs recovered, which I have the material for. It is also worth noting, the car comes with a set of 17 inch silver Cup 3 wheels that were recently redone, and have great tires.
The title is clear, but theres an accident on the Carfax from an off-road accident. Ive had the front tub checked out by a professional, and everything is fine, and the car aligned, as it should, on a rack. I have the Carfax to show anyone of the incident. The airbags did blow, and replacement bags were mounted.
If youre looking for a solid, driver quality 964 that had nearly everything replaced, or rebuilt, this is it. It is also the cheapest Coupe you will find for sale, with equivalent work done. Im sure theres cheaper out there, but not with a fresh engine and so many other parts replaced. This 964 is ready to be driven, and I would trust it to take me cross-country, if needed. Comes with 2 sets of keys, owners manual, and all receipts from my ownership.
If you have any questions, please PM me. Ill gladly talk through the rebuild and car with anyone, and have had the car recently gone through to represent it as closely as I can. No lowball offers, as I will gladly enjoy the car until I get an honest price out of it. Ive priced it very fair, but will work with the right buyer to find it a good home. I know Im forgetting some things, but I have tons of receipts to show what has been done. Thanks for looking.
