Description

For sale is my ultra-rare 08 Forester Sports XT with the rare 5spd manual (dubbed a unicorn because according to Subaru of N. America, only 240 of these cars in all the color options were made with the manual transmission in 2008). I figure I would post it here and the usual forums before posting on BAT or eBay. Details of the foz are below as well as documented in my build journal at sf.org (http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulle...pgrade-200458/).
Year/Make/Model/Trim: 2008 Subaru Forester XT Sports
Color: Dark (or Diamond?) Grey Metallic
Transmission: ultra-rare 5 speed manual transmission
Miles: 73,500 (this is not my daily driver so this will stay pretty much the same)
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Winnetka, CA 91306)
Price: $19.5K obo
I am the original owner (title on-hand) and have meticulously maintained this car with German 0w-30 or Belgian 0w-40 Castrol and with the very popular Tokyo Roki/N3R1-14-302 oil filter every 3K miles or 3 months (yes I know this was overkill but the original plan was to keep her forever). This foz has never been tracked or launched and a lot of the mods were done to keep the engine as healthy as possible (equal length headers for lower EGT, Crawford AOS to prevent blow-by/spark-knock, external wastegate for better boost control and to eliminate boost creep, external oil cooler and Koyo radiator to keep engine temps optimum). The transmission and diff oil were drained and filled with Subaru Extra-S at 65,622 miles. The first 65K miles of this car were all freeway miles and kept stock. Just to give you an indication of the minimum wear and tear on this car - when I upgraded to the rear 2pot brake set-up (to match the front 4pot) at 70K miles, my original pads were still at 60% when I removed them. The interior and exterior are 9-9.5/10 as it has been garage kept with no messy kids (lol). This foz is tastefully modded with the intention of having a very reliable but fun weekend car (the bar was set high after having previously owned an S2000, sti, and Miata). There are zero drivability issues and its super quick even at half throttle. My wife and I have been travelling and overlanding quite a bit more so unfortunately the foz just sits in the garage and only driven once/twice a week on the freeway to keep the fluids circulated. Below is my detailed mod list (with the caveat that I maybe forgetting some small items).

This foz is a 100% SoCal car, has zero oil consumption, no CELs, no leaks, and an undercarriage you can eat from! As far as the all mods, with the exception of the Koni struts w/sti springs (bought with 8K miles from a good friend) and sti seats, all of the other mods were purchased brand new and have less than 8000 miles (as documented in my journal). I will also include all the stock parts (seats, TD04 turbo, exhaust manifold, down pipe, up-pipe, hood scoop, catback exhaust, radiator, steering rack, struts/springs, etc) to go back to stock with the exception of the Enkei sti wheels which I sold and the front OEM brake calipers which I gave away. Also included are some mods I removed or just havent installed (04-07 WRX/sti RCE Black springs and JDM Forester sti aluminum control arms).

That should cover everything and I will also have the car smogged prior to your purchase. ***Please note that I am in no rush to sell and I completely understand that it will take a particular enthusiast to appreciate this car at hopefully as close to the price that Im asking for.***
To the member that offered me $20K for this car a few months ago, Ive got a new phone and don't have access to my old texts so please contact me if you are still interested (lowered the price a little bit as an extra incentive...LOL). If this post doesnt get any traction and when time allows, I will list this car in BAT or eBay as some folks have already suggested (https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...ter-sports-xt/). Yes I know shes not the WRB color and has almost twice the mileage (38K vs 73K) but my car was never tracked, has the full complement of reliability mods, and maintained at a more frequent interval. The best way to reach me is via text at eight-one-8, 5-two-seven, 2-nine-nine-five. Thanks! - Mike
