2017, Subaru, WRX:
Location: Indianapolis/Lafayette, IN
Transmission: 6 speed MT
Description and Mods:
2017 WRX base model in world rally blue. 6 speed manual. Purchased new in February 2017. Options included were the auto dimming rear view mirror, trunk bumper protecting film, and Subaru rubber floor mats and trunk liner. I do have the original carpets still in the factory bags. Mods are Perrin short shifter linkage, bushing, and shift stop, and Cobb Accessport stage 1 91 octane. Maintained to a T, never abused, broke in per owner's manual, clay bar and paint sealant each spring and fall. Runs, drives, and shifts perfect. The stock shifter was sloppy to me so I installed the Perrin parts, and the accessport has been on stage 1 91 octane tune for about a month, but the car has used 93 Shell or BP fuel for its whole life. I just wanted to smooth out the stock mapping and reduce the rev hang. No issues with any log or data ever shown on the accessport. If I was going for power, I would have just done full stage 2, but I needed this car to have a long and trouble free life, so reliable drivability was my goal.
This car is in great shape. I wasn't planning on selling it, but I bought a house ahead of schedule and need my car payments to go towards something more DIY friendly. Great platform to begin a build or just make a great DD like it has been for me. It is my DD so the miles will go up until it is sold. Miles are mostly highway from driving NE corner of Indy to SW corner each day. Never been in even a fender bender. I do still owe on it. Car is located in the Indy area, and financed through a credit union in Lafayette.
I did have to have a rock chip repaired in the windshield. 3/8" in diameter and fixed by Safe Lite, but it is still noticeable if you look in the right spot. It was fixed right after it happened so there was no chance of a crack starting. Left front rim has just a very light scuff from kissing a curb at a bank drive through, but it is barely noticeable unless right up close. It has the infamous 3rd brake light rattle that comes and goes depending on temperature- just haven't gotten around to getting rid of it yet.
