Not just a closet queen, but also a great player and an excellent sounding instrument. This is one of the nicest late '70's Jazz Basses I've ever played, especially coming from an era in Fender history where workmanship could be inconsistent. As shown, there are a few nicks on the lower end of the body and one on the top of the neck heel, but it is in remarkably good condition for a 38-year old axe. It plays very evenly, sounds punchy and weighs in at a comfortable 9 lbs. 8 oz. Frets are nearly perfect, the neck is nice and straight and the truss rod moves easily. The body appears to be ash. It is set up with medium low action and DR .45 - .105. Hi Beams.
The tone control was not functioning, so I replaced the original cap with an orange drop .47 uF cap. However, I hung onto the original cap and will include it. Apart from that, the bass is completely original, and it even has the hangtags and warranty card. It comes in the original case, which is in excellent condition.
I'm not interested in trading for anything except possibly a Roscoe Beck V in excellent condition + cash. I'd knock the price down a bit for a local pickup. I'm in Laguna Beach, CA
