I present for consideration and Japanese Arisaka Type 38 in 6.5 Jap.
Imperial chrysanthemum has been filed/ground off (allegedly by the Japanese before their surrender in order to save face).
Serial number and markings date this to being produced in Tokyo before 1935 at the Koshikawa arsenal.
The Koshikawa arsenal made Type 38's between 1906-1935.
This rifle is in excellent condition for its age.
Both bluing and wood are the nicest I've seen for an 80 year old rifle that made it through at least one world war.
