Introduced as the Centennial Rifle in 1876, the Model 1876 was basically a
larger-framed, more powerful version of the Model 1873. The 1876 Winchester
uses the same basic design as the Model 1873, adapted for larger cartridges.
The 1876 saddle ring carbine is unique in the Winchester lever action family, as
it has a long forearm wood, which gives it the appearance of a short musket.
When you see your first '76 carbine, it is easy to mistake it for a musket.

Here is a chance to invest in a bit of history with an original 1874 Sharps Old Reliable rifle
with a heavy 30, .45-70, octagon barrel.
Everything works and is totally functional and

This 40-70 was purchased at the big Reno Gun Show
years ago by a collector and was never fired afterwards.
The bore and action condition is
very good, nothing loose or suspect.
100% original condition.
