I am selling my 2002 Honda VFR 800. The original color was Red. I had to put aftermarket fairings because the right side fairings got scratched from an accident. It happened because I was going 25-30mph and the front wheel locked from panic braking. That low slide caused a broken a piece of the clutch cover and the right side fairing. I got the salvaged title because of that.
The engine has around 14,000 miles on it even though the bike has 75,000 miles. Don't let the miles scare you. Its a VFR that has been used for commuting and city riding. I had to replace the engine because I had manual CCTs and I had them too tight. So the engine failed. I had the replacement engine properly installed at a shop in SF. I have the paperwork to show. I have had the bike for about 3 years now and I have most of the paperwork for the work that has been done to it.
The NADA price for this bike with clean title is around $2,200. I am asking $1600 because it has a salvaged title and they usually are worth 50% of what a clean bike is worth.
I will list some good and bad things.
It has sensible aftermarket parts. HeliBars, BLS lowering footpegs, Micron Slipons, MRA adjustable windshield, Powercommander 3, Corbin seat, new front and rear brake pads, Michelin Pilot Pro 4s with 60% tread life on them (and the wheels are balanced), Vibranator bar ends, Mosfet rectifier, the VFRness, DMr suspension (Front- revalved and resprung to a 220lb rider) (Rear- fully adjustable CBR shock that has been revalved and resprung for a 220lb rider) they have been on the bike for about 8,000 miles. I have most of the paperwork for the last 3 years. The registration is good until May, 2018.
The bad things are
1. Salvaged title
2. You will feel vibrations from the handlebars and footpegs. They can be from things like the throttle body not in sync, or the underbody exhaust touching the subframe and causing it. The vibrations are not noticeable around town but your hands will be numb after riding on the freeway for 45 minutes.
I have listed the good and the bad things so you are not dragged into surprises. It is a great bike with many add ons that make your riding experience better but I am just annoyed by the vibrations.
I will part the bike if needed in a few weeks. Let me know if you have questions.
