Selling my 1984 Honda Nighthawk CB650SC.
The bike is similar to my old '86 BMW K75, in terms of riding style, shaft driven, and how easy it was to ride. I had to sell my K75 due to parts being hard to find to replace. This CB650 SC was the perfect replacement for that being shaft driven, roughly same engine size, lower seating, and being able to find replacement parts so easily.
650cc 4 cylinder engine, air cooled
Hydraulic clutch, fluids flushed
5 speed (4 speed plus overdrive) transmission, shaft driven
Speedometer doesn't work (haven't checked, could be just the cable)
Cluster has a fuel gauge, gear indicator, oil pressure, brake, high beam, neutral lights, speedo & tach
Adjustable front balancing brake system
Front forks have air valves on top for adjusting pressures
Rear suspension has 5 settings for spring preload adjustments
Brake pads in front have good life left, haven't checked the rear shoes
Tires have lots of tread left but has light cracking
Chassis itself has a lot of miles (55k) engine was replaced by the previous owner, I confirmed by engine number and comparing with the pink slip. It's been down on the right side before, has a dent on the right side of the tank. The seat had some tears and I taped it up with gaffers tape. Turn signal switch plastic cap is broken, but it still works with the metal tab. Was leaning
towards chopping and bobbing the bike, or doing a cafe or sports conversion, but it's a solid bike as it is, and rather it go as a whole than turn into a big project.
I've added a windscreen, replaced the bars with other black Honda stock bars and mirrors, chopped the fender, added some little rear turn signals and tail light, removed the tail section paneling, and small side covers. Have all the stock stuff if you want it. Clean title, pink slip in hand. Cash and M1 license in hand for test ride.
Runs great, used it for commuting 70+ miles a day, runs strong, cruises at freeway speeds easily.
Asking price $2300
Able to show anywhere between Emeryville to Menlo Park depending on the time and day.
