It is with mix emotions that I am selling my 1992 Ducati 900SS SP with CR fairings.
She is not perfect but well maintained. And although she is 25 years old she has proven to be very reliable. She was my only vehicle until I caved in and got a larger carbon footprint in the form of a car. I know most people turn away when they see salvage title and I admit I was too initially back in 2012. But after taking a good look in person I realized she was unlike most of the bikes with a salvage title. The previous owner was an experience sport rider and the story was he low-side it riding in the back roads. The right side fairing mounting point on the frame got damaged due to the fall and his insurance totaled it. In California it is very common for an insurance company to total a bike if the frame is affected, even if it is just a scratch. I purchased the bike with the front mud guard, gas tank and seat/tail section and I decided to get CR fairings off eBay as I prefer the look of it. The bike was thoroughly serviced under Scott's supervision at Desmoto Sport in San Francisco (www.desmotosport.com) and later by an independent Ducati specialist in Orange County after I moved down south.
This bike is very simple, no complicated electronic systems. Pretty much an engine and carburetors mounted to a frame with wheels. I have ridden several bikes**list below and I have to say this bike by far is the most soulful and has so much character. Others may be faster or exciting to ride, but they do not give you that visceral feeling. And that distinctive dry clutch sound I just can't get enough of it.
I am selling the bike to cover my ambulance ride to the hospital from a bicycle accident. Also I don't ride much anymore. I really hope to find her a good home and someone who will appreciate her.
