This is a great bike! It runs smoothly and it is super fun in the twisties and at the track. I took it on a group ride last wknd through Mines / Del Puerto / Patterson Pass and it was a blast.
Years ago when my husband was looking at a salvage bike, I was very opposed to the idea. But for the right person who doesn't mind the cosmetic damage, it makes a ton of sense and it's a amazing deal. We bought this bike in 2013 from Gold Motor Riversports near Sacramento - the prior owner wrecked the bike and it became a salvage title (due to the cost of fairing replacement). The dealership bought the bike, did a full inspection, made some minor mechanical and cosmetic repairs, and re-sold the bike to us. They guaranteed that the bike was mechanically sound and we haven't had any issues in those 5 years (and 7k miles) since we bought it. The only downside to a salvage title is that you can't get theft insurance or comprehensive insurance, but for $1600, you probably wouldn't bother anyway.
There are quite a few cosmetic issues with this bike, but you'd amazed what you can do with vinyl, paint, or even duct tape!
