I'd imagine that you know the watch if you're reading this. One blog described Damasko's in-house DK models as having an impressive movement for a watch under $20,000. The overwhelming majority of the watch is manufactured right in Damasko's factory. Thanks to the silicone hair spring and escapement, the watch maintains antimagnetic properties with a sapphire case back. The movement looks amazing, and is stylistically perfect for the brand. If you're into casual, tough, understated watches, but still want a premium movement that you can actually see, look no further.
This is my fourth Damasko, and my first with their rotating bezel and damast coating. Both are phenomenal. The black coating actually results in the watch being slightly more reflective and eye catching than the bead blasted models I've owned in the past. I've worn it on rustic brown leather, navy blue, and OD green. It looked great in everything.
The watch is 2.5 years old. A few weeks ago the it developed a rotor winding problem. It still hand wound fine. The initial theory from Greg at Watchmann was that the rotor ratchet had come out of adjustment. I ultimately opted for their full service, described below, in the event that the problem was with the mainspring:
Service includes complete disassembly of all parts,.ultrasonic.cleaning, proper lubricants, new seals and.new main spring, pressure test and regulation. It will restore the watch to new running condition and is guaranteed for 1 year.
Greg confirmed that warranty is transferrable, and that only OEM parts and gaskets are used. He is PHENOMENAL to deal with.
While the watch was out for service I decided to chase a grail. I'm not going to say I regret it, but it wasn't the smartest move. This is a fantastic watch, and an unbelievable value. I inspected it and it appears to be in great condition. The damast coating looks like gunmetal in some of my photos due to lighting, but it is jet black. The strap and deployant buckle present as nearly unworn, with only a slight crease from the buckle being attached. Inner and outer box, and paperwork included.
Offered at $2,750 shipped & insured in the CONUS. International at my discretion and your expense. I have a green Isofrane with black DLC buckle available for an additional $110.
