Description

Here's a 1960's vintage Zodiac Seawolf diver's automatic with coin-edge rotating diver's bezel and signed "beads of rice" bracelet. Here's the details on this collectible early vintage dive watch: ZODIAC (SS/SS "Seawolf" Diver's Automatic) - Excellent 35mm signed stainless steel screwback case with coin-edge rotating indexed diver's bezel and extended lugs (43mm lug to lug), signed 17 jewel calibre 70-72 automatic movement, excellent signed black dial with large triangular hour markers at the quarters, silver and luminous sword hands and sweep seconds, signed crown, signed stainless steel "beads of rice" bracelet. The Seawolf model was introduced in 1953, and this piece dates to the 1960's, based on the use of the calibre 70-72 automatic movement. Zodiac, in conjunction with Doxa, Eberhard, Favre-Leuba, and Girard-Perregaux, had refined AS base calibres to produce the Zodiac calibres 70-72 introduced in 1961 and used throughout the 1960's. The watch is in very good cosmetic condition for this vintage, and is running when shaken, but clearly needs servicing. The automatic movement is signed, "70-72, Zodiac Ltd., Unadjusted, Swiss, Seventeen 17 Jewels." The stainless steel case is in excellent condition, and the inner caseback is signed, "Zodiac Ltd., LeLocle Swiss, Acier Inoxydable, 702-916." The signed stainless steel beaded "grains of rice" bracelet will fit up to about a 7.5 inch wrist. This is an early vintage dive watch, and has not been tested for current water resistance. With a little TLC, this piece will be a welcome addition to any vintage Zodiac or dive watch collection! 1960's VINTAGE ZODIAC SEAWOLF AUTOMATIC WITH COIN-EDGE ROTATING DIVER'S BEZEL, CALIBRE 70-72 AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT, AND SIGNED "GRAINS OF RICE" BRACELET!
