Description

Up for sale is a watch that I have been very proud to own, but it's now time for a new owner to enjoy it as much as I have. This watch is pretty unique on quite a few levels. For starters, it's a centrally-mounted, manually wound monopusher chronograph. Chronograph watches certainly do abound, but not ones that are both centrally mounted and a monopusher, making this piece as rare as they come. The ZM stands for Zentraler Minutenzhler, which is German for "central minute counter." The movement is fascinating in that it uses Habring's caliber A08ZM, which is based on the wheel train of the ETA 7750, but that's where the similarities stop. That's because caliber A08ZM is very heavily modified, using in-house manufactured parts to transform the chronograph into a monopusher and to centrally mount it: Both chronograph control via the monopusher and the central minute counter are developments exclusive to Habring. This particular iteration has flame-blued hour, minute, and subsidiary seconds hands, along with a special blued steel cam visible through the display caseback. The dial is a beautiful silver that has the dual purpose of being both aesthetically pleasing and practical wherein the dial changes hue depending on lighting conditions, and legibility is maximized in combination with those blued hands. As far as I'm aware, these features are exclusive to this particular piece.
The watch is in excellent 96% condition with no dents or dings on the case, and with the usual hairlines found on a polished case, which is consistent with normal wear. For full disclosure, there is one minor scratch on the side of the case, which is only visible in the right light. Of course, a light polish can easily restore the piece to 100% if desired. The watch is a complete set with the trademark Habring pine box, papers, and a spare set of parts, including spare hands and gaskets, that Habring includes with each of their watches. The only thing missing is the original strap/tang buckle, which was misplaced and its whereabouts are unknown, but the watch is accompanied with a beautiful Hirsch leather strap and signed buckle that perfectly complements it. Note that the original Habring buckle is generic and unsigned, and both the strap and buckle can be purchased from Habring for approximately 100 Euros.
Priced at $4150 for a quick sale. Bank wire is the payment method of choice, but I will also accept PayPal from reputable CONUS members (buyer pays PayPal fees). I have multiple references available upon request. I also welcome a face to face meeting in the Northern New Jersey/New York City area.
Terms/conditions for international buyers: A CONUS sale is much preferred, but I am willing to sell internationally at my sole discretion. If I choose to sell internationally, the buyer would be responsible for all shipping/insurance charges, taxes, and duties, and by purchasing, buyer agrees to assume all risk, including, but not limited to, loss, theft, damage, and/or customs issues or problems.
