This is a rare item, a 25-year old high accuracy quartz watch in unused condition. According to Longines, the serial number indicates it was made between 1991 and 1993. The model number is L1.613.9.
It has the Longines L174.4 (ETA 255.561) thermocompensated quartz movement, originally specified as accurate to 1 minute in 5 years (12 seconds / year). That period was the expected battery life. In practice, the watch can be easily regulated in steps of 4 seconds per year, and this example has gained only 0.9 seconds since it was last set on 1st January. The hour hand can be adjusted independently of seconds and minutes, so that the accuracy is undisturbed by DST changes, or travel across time zones.
The watch and bracelet are in solid grey titanium, with gold PVD trim on the hands, hour markers, and bracelet centre links. The diameter, excluding the crown, is 34.8 mm, and the case is 38.3 mm lug-to-lug. The bracelet is a non-tapering 18 mm wide, and has a maximum length of 21 cm. 8 of the links are removable, giving a minimum size of 16 cm. The watch with full bracelet weighs 57 grams.
The crystal is a flat sapphire and the watch is water resistant to 10 atm. The original Longines box, in new condition, is included.
While 25 years old, the watch is apparently unused, as it shows none of the light scuffing that always occurs between the internal pieces of the bracelet, and any slight marks are due to handling and storage. The dial and hands are free from any pitting and corrosion, which is common on VHPs of this age, and the lume is intact.
