Here's a vintage Longines "Conquest" stainless steel automatic that I recently picked up at an NAWCC watch show. To be honest, what caught my attention was the unique and colorful "fish" logo on the case back! I've seen several vintage Longines from this era which have similarly cool enamel logos on the case back, but never the fish! Here's the details: LONGINES (SS Conquest Automatic) - Excellent 35x43mm signed stainless steel screwback case (#9024-5-374) with colorful enamel raised relief fish medallion on the case back, signed 24 jewel calibre 291 automatic movement (#119770xx),signed aged original silver satin dial with raised gold markers, raised gold Longines "wings" logo at 12:00, gold hands and sweep seconds, date aperture at 3:00, signed original crown, 18mm period expansion bracelet. The serial number on the movement places the date of production at 1962. The watch shows wear consistent with this vintage. The stainless steel screwback case shows typical wear, as does the crystal. The dial shows aging and discoloration. The high grade 24 jewel calibre 291 automatic movement is running and keeping good time. The calendar function is old-style quickset, and turns over a little late. The watch is currently fitted on an 18mm period expansion bracelet. But, oh, the fish, the fish! 1962 VINTAGE SS LONGINES CONQUEST WITH HIGH GRADE 24 JEWEL CALIBRE 291 AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT AND BEAUTIFUL FISH MEDALLION ON THE CASEBACK!
