I believe it dates to 1991 where it had a limited edition run (5000?); this is No. 0976.
It's a rare watch and it's claim to fame is that it's the only automatic watch the combines moonphase and alarm function.
It's in near excellent shape.
Acrylic crystal is free of any deep scratches.
White dial is a classic layout and pristine.
Lume on the hand are medium strength.
Jeweled crown insets remain in place and the watch winds smoothly.
Alarm at 4 o'clock winds well and deploys flawlessly.
Manual wind and quickset date at 2 o'clock work without issues; moophase adjusted by advancing the hands.
The 20 micron gold plated case is in very good shape; no plating loss.
Polished stainless caseback has some light scratches and does have the custom engraving "DG" with No. 0976 indicated; above text is "JOHN HARWOOD, MONTRE A REMONTAGE AUTOMATIQUE" and bottom text is "BREVET PRINCIPAL No 106583, BERNE/SUISS, LE 1er SEPTEMBRE 1924".
Inside the watch is a modified AS 5008 with 25 jewels.
Movement looks clean and the watch is keeping good time with all functions working; however, service recommened for daily use.
I've included a lightly worn padded 18mm navy leath strap that compliments the blue dial accents nicely.
John Harwood produced the world's first automatic watch, so it's fitting to have his name on the first and only moonphase/alarm automatic - here's you chance at securing one!Shipping: Priority ConUS shipping is free and preferred. However I will consider International Offers on a case-by-case basis.
