Description

Dial: Original Tudor gilt, closed chapter ring exclamation point dial (has spotting and light drag marks, top layer of lume and exclamation dot missing)
Hands: Later service replacement hands
Crown: Original twin lock crown
Bezel: MKII "long 5" faded insert
Model: 7928
Serial: 379264
Case:
Pointed crown guard case (thick chamfers are well pronounced) (some tool marks on the back case)
Case-back: Stamped 7928 I.61 (1961)
Movement: Original 390 Tudor movement with original rare butterfly rotor (wear on the center hole of the rotor)
Bracelet: Used vintage brown leather strap
No box or papers. Service history is unknown but the watch is keeping good time. The wear on the rotor does make it difficult to spin. Because it is rare and original I decided to keep the butterfly rotor as is.
The watch can be wound and worn as normal.
Notes: For your consideration a very rare and early Tudor 7928 Submariner from 1961. These are highly sought after due to its gilt, closed chapter ring dial and pointed crown guard case. This example although clearly worn and perhaps used for its intended purpose is full of patina and character. The gilt writing and chapter ring is clearly gold and visible and this one having being an exclamation point dial where you can still slightly see where the dot used to be. The hands while later do look great on the watch and the spotting on the dial is relatively even. The pointed crown guard case is worn but retains much of its thick original chamfers and the crown guards are clearly pointed and well defined. Add the amazing faded MKII "long 5" insert and its makes for one rare vintage diver with the perfect vintage look.
