Here's a pre-eBay listing exclusive to our esteemed WUS members. PM me if interested:Description: Vintage Silver Universal Geneve White Shadow Ultra Slim Microrotor Automatic with Silver White Shadow Quartz - Rare Duo!Price: $608 USD; ConUS shipped (Paypal, net to me); International offers - see belowConditon: Pre-owned; Very Good Condition.Trades: No TradesMovement: UG Cal. 2-66 25 Jewel Microtor Automatic; UG Cal. 17 7 Jewel QuartzDimensions: Approx. 31mm diameter excluding crown; 5mm thick; 34mm lug-lug; Integraded UG signed mesh sliding lock bracelet (approx. 8.5 inches)Accessories: No box/paper/tagsNotes: Here's a pretty rare duo of Universal Geneve Watches.
I believe they were produced in the 1970s but I don't know how to specifically date the watches.
The White Shadow microtor series took the crown for the thinnest automatic movements in the world and held this title for many years until Piguet's newer movements came out in 2003.
The silver dialed automatic houses a Cal. 2-66 25 Jeweled movement running at 19800 bph with a 46h power reserve.
Cosmetically in very good shape; few scratches on the mineral crystal; dial, case, caseback free of any major damage.
All functions work; manual winds well; keeping good time - however, service recommended for daily use.
The White Shadow Quartz (which is the rarer watch) houses a UG Cal. 17 which is a 7 Jewel Quartz movement.
Very similar condition to the automatic watch cosmetically.
The quartz keeps good time.
Both watches have an integrated and luxurious mesh signed UG bracelet that can accommodate up to a 8.5 inch wrist.
Slight variations noted in the bracelet design, bracelet length and dial patina - nice to have both watches to compare.
No box/paper/tags.
These watches captured a signficant moment in history where the Swiss industry needed to respond to the quartz revolution - a great catch for your collection!Shipping: Priority ConUS shipping is free and preferred. However I will consider International Offers on a case-by-case basis.
Questions welcome.
