Im selling my vintage Wittnauer Skin Diver, reference 4000that I picked up from an estate sale about a year ago.
The watch runs well, keeps good time, and haswarm, vintage charm in spades. The case is in honest condition expected of avintage watch, showing normal signs of its undoubted decades of EDC wear, justas it should. The best part of this watch, IMO, is the dial.
Its a dark, slate matte grey, with perfectlyaged cream colored, puffy tritium lume, matching all the way around and on allthree hands.
Interestingly, if youcharge the lume (especially with a LED flashlight), the lume plots still putoff a surprising amount of glow. The lume pip on the bezel is original and intact, the crownis correct, and the domed acrylic crystal has the correct, originaltrapezoidal, internal cyclops over the date display, and he crystal is insurprisingly clear condition, as you can see in the pictures.
There is also an inscription on the case backfrom the original gifter, dating to 1972; see pics. The watch includes the original tropic strap, as well as aZulu strap, which matches the lume patina perfectly.
There are no boxes, papers, or other extrasincluded.
I do not know the servicehistory of the watch, but it runs well, with a power reserve of 35 hours on afull wind. The particulars:Manufacturer: WittnauerModel: Skin DiverReference: 4000Case: Stainless SteelDimensions: 38mm diameter (without crown), 11mm thickness, and 47mm from lug to lug.Lug Width: 19mmBezel: Bi-directional with original lume pip.Crystal: Acrylic with trapezoid date cyclopsDial/Lume: 25 T SWISS T 25, Matte Slate Grey, Tritium Lumewith creamy patina, matching on the hands and the dial.Movement: Manual winding C11-KS-1 caliber.Strap: Tropic (original in good condition) & Zulu (usedgood condition from Crown & Buckle)Year of Production: Approximately 1972Priced at $995 for a CONUS only sale, including shipping;payment via wire, or add 4% if you would like to pay via PayPal.
