Top of the line Yamaha BB2025x in Piano Black.
These are built in the Yamaha custom shop and it shows.
Serious attention to detail and a perfect neck.
It is in excellent condition and purchased recently from Bass Central.
It will be shipped in the original Yamaha hardshell case.
$1750 shipped to lower 48.
The only flaws I see are a little swirling in the pickguard and some marks around the plastic cavity that houses the truss rod.
One reversable mod has been done to the bass.
Pickup switching is the best way to keep the each pickup in a PJ configuration isolated, but I like having a little P pickup when going to the bridge pickup instead having a completely isolated bridge pickup.
So, there is a push/pull pot on the tone control that engages a preset level of P pickup (controlled by a trim pot inside the cavity).
When the pot is pushed, the trim pot is completely out of the circuit (true bypassed), but when engaged in blend mode, you can have the slightly rolled off neck pickup thing.
Very cool, and again completely reversable.
When the pot is pushed, the switches isolate each pickup just like stock.
I have the tone pot as well.
Ed Friedland has a killer review of this bass on YouTube.
My only comment about the review is....Yamaha chose a single coil bridge pickup because they sound better.
They had a choice, and they chose the better sounding design.
Rergardless, the bass is actually very quiet and your guitar players hum is waaayyy worse.
