BARITONE IS SOLD - SJ LONGSCALE STILL AVAILABLEI've decided to make some changes mainly for ergonomic reasons, and also because my focus is shifting. A long road of buying and selling has led me to these 2 wonderful instruments I'm offering for sale. Both guitars were handmade by veteran luthier Marc Beneteau for Canadian fingerstyle maestro Don Ross. Cash price is $SOLD + shipping for the Baritone and $3200obo + shipping for the Longscale. Both show cosmetic wear from having been touring instruments and they are priced accordingly. More detailed notes on condition can be found below.I prefer a cash sale on both, but I will entertain trades for a quality flamenco guitar (negra or blanca) and possibly a Lowden F or other small fingerstyle oriented guitar (min. 1 3/4" nut width). Both guitars are very similar in spec:Baritone:Completed 200228" scale length1 13/16" nut / 2 5/16" bridge spacingEngelmann Spruce / PadoukPinless Bridge - setup B-B .066/.056/.045/.035/.026/.017Gotoh 21:1 510 Gold tuners w/Padouk buttons (will include original Grovers in case)TKL case (rough shape, broken latch)iBeam Active PickupRecordings: all baritone material by Andy McKee on the Don & Andy duet album "the thing that came from somewhere". Don Ross also used it on Robot Monster, Music For Vacuuming and Live In Your Head. You Tube examples:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ywvdaN4e8shttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjzX6F6DmQACondition: the more road-worn of the two, this guitar has significant top wear mostly concentrated around the sound hole. Repairs include a small section of Padouk replaced after a mishap at Homeland Security with a clumsy inspector (amazing repair), as well as several professionally created cracks on the side as pictured (treble side, both completely stable) and top - various dings and wear, but nothing causing any structural issue. Moderate fret wear. Neck angle is good. Some wear on treble side of neck caused by Don's percussive ring technique heard in tunes like Loaded, Leather, Moonroof (I don't notice it when playing at all). 90% of maintenance work was performed by Marc Beneteau (including a recent bridge re-glue just before I received the guitar in early 2009), with the rest having been performed by a very talented guy who is local to me. This guitar ROCKS, period.Standard pitch:Completed 200025.7" scale length1 13/16" nut / 2 5/16" bridge spacingEngelmann Spruce / PadoukPinless Bridge - setup E-E .056/.045/.035/.026/.017/.013Gotoh 21:1 510 silver tuners w/stock silver buttons (will include original Grovers in case)Ameritage Gold Series case (w/built in humidification system)K&K Trinity Pickup (SBTs + mic)Recordings: Huron Street, Robot MonsterYou Tube examples (played by Don):http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZx_ckGDa64http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3UXSwNfDdTk&feature=channelhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlRpSMbOOR0&feature=channelhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ExgqnilG4pU&feature=channelhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_N3_odXXOO0&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7wagf26gJ4&feature=channelCondition: this guitar has some similar top wear around the sound hole and general cosmetic wear but to a much lesser extent than the baritone. Marc Beneteau replaced the top on this guitar with another example of his famed Engelmann spruce somewhere between 2003-2005 - an impeccable job which included a complete refinish of the instrument (would be hard to even notice if you weren't told). 2 very small top cracks professionally repaired by cleats. Light to moderate fret wear. Recent neck reset. Some wear on treble side of neck caused by Don's percussive ring technique heard in tunes like Loaded, Leather, Moonroof (I don't notice it when playing at all). The best standard pitch 6 string I have owned, this guitar excels at both standard and alternate tunings. Both are Marc's Super Jumbo model - dimensions are as follows:DimensionsUpper Bout 12 1/16" (307mm)Waist 10" (254mm)Lower Bout 16 13/16"(425mm)Body Depth 4.5" (115mm)Overall Length 42.5" (108cm*)Here are new pics of both - the baritone is the one with more significant top wear:Thanks for looking - feel free to contact me with questions or for more pics.
