Here I have one of Brian Ristola's personal players and one of the first 10 he's made. Bass is in mint condition, as you can see by the pics.
Looking for a 4 string trade with same quality of construction.
* Scale: 35"
* Nut width: 1.84"/46.5mm
* 12th fret width: 2.45"
* 24th fret width: 2.75"
* 1st position thickness: .768"/19mm
* 12th position thickness: .834"/20.5mm
* String spacing at nut: 10mm
* String Spacing at bridge: 18mm atm, (adjustable from 19mm to 17mm)
* Hipshot Tuners/Bridge.
* Dingwall reverse Split P Soapbars/Dingwall 3-band eq preamp.
* 2-pc Mahogany Body
* Purpleheart/Bubinga w/Ebony fretboard
* Crotch Walnut Top and matching headstock (also called Claro Walnut)
Condition is 9.5/10. Minty like the showroom floor. I cannot find a ding/scratch/or any marks-mars anywhere except a few unnoticeable fine swirls on the back of the body. Hard to see in Mahogany, not deep. Frets are excellent. Barely played. The only reason I gave it a 9.5 is that it is a preowned bass.
I emailed Brian about this bass so here's a copy of his reply email... I wanted to know what a 4 string would cost me with the exact same materials used on this 5er...
That bass would have been built in 2003, I believe. Pricing would be around $3200 roughly in today's market....but, yes you could price it out specifically using the price list.

Lastly, this is a reply from the only other owner besides Brian and myself:
I played this bass a total of 6 times the entire time I owned it. Had it less than a year. Bought it directly from Brian Ristola. It has been sitting for about 6 months (in a climate controlled room of course.) I actually do work for Brian as a sub-contractor producing bass guitar wiring harnesses. I am a life long bass player who just recently went over to 6-string acoustic. The electronics are Dingwall3-band EQ. I build thousands of these harnesses. Your bass will produce a variety of tones whatever your style is. I was a traditional 4-string player mostly doing rock and blues. This bass can do it all as far as I'm concerned. Definitely great for plunk/slap styles, jazz, rock, etc. The 3-band EQ along with the blend control should work for just about any genre. If you have any more questions, I will be happy to answer best as I can.
So there's the history. It really sounds better than anything I've ever played. And the ease of play is off the charts. I love this preamp, holy smokes... The pups also, Dingwall makes some good stuff. The pups are both reverse split coils in a soapbar housing, 3x2.
I wish my hands could do it but I've got bad arthritis and am going back to 4's altogether.
As for trades, looking for 4 strings ONLY. As the post states, this is a 'for trade' thread only. Not interested in cash sales, but I may trade down for a bass plus cash. (Paypal accepted.)
INTERESTED IN: German Warwick LTD's, Sandberg Ken Taylor and Roscoe Standard 4's are what I'm mostly into atm. Unless it really special or old, no Fenders or Fender clones.

Thanks for looking, enjoy the pics...
