Mauser Oberndorf, Germany
Location (city or county):
Santa Rosa area, NorCal
Will ship (Y/N):
This is a very rare German single shot bolt action target rifle from the mid 1930s. This one has the gas hole on the right side, which is even more rare (according to Jon Speeds book "Mauser Smallbores Book Sporting, Target & Training Rifles"). The rifle shares several characteristics with the K98. It has a similar rear sight, which is fully adjustable for windage and elevation as well as a bolt, which is like a small version of the K98 bolt with a three position safety.
This rifle has a 27" barrel and is quite heavy. It has zero recoil, helping with accuracy, which is great. The trigger is also excellent. So is the bore.
The bolt is numbers matching with the receiver. Everything appear to be original except for the front sight hood and the stock appears to have been refinished, as it no longer shows the Mauser logo on the right side.
I have no box or paperwork and I don't know the round count. I am not the original owner, so I don't know how many prior owners this rifle has had. It does not have any kind of import marks. I am only selling this, because I have a second one with untouched stock.
PPT in Santa Rosa, Petaluma or maybe Napa. I also can ship it to your FFL for $45. I am not interested in trades or in travel. No offers please.
