This JDM Citizen is an honest, highly effective take on a modern field watch. The watch is supremely legible, and totally unobtrusive thanks to the size and weight. This was my first foray into an enthusiast's/JDM Citizen, and it's easy to see why there's a cult following.
For those unfamiliar the watch is built from the top, and sealed with the (sapphire) crystal. The back of the case is completely solid, and nicely engraved. This model features a DLC coated bezel, and the entire watch and bracelet have Citizen's duratect coating. The bracelet features a well executed adjustable clasp. The flip lock has a little more play than I like, but it's a result of the design and not a defect.
I bought this watch thinking that I would wear it when I didn't want to have something more expensive on. I quickly realized that if I wasn't willing to wear my quartz Breitling or Damast coated Damasko for a particular task, then it warranted a G-Shock, not this. Knowing that I needed to sell it I kept it off a NATO strap for fear that it would become the most comfortable watch I'd ever worn.
The watch shows a handful of marks, mostly on the clasp.
