I looked high and low in micros including Halios, Nodus and Spinnaker as well as the bigger companies like Seiko, Glycine, Longines and Oris for what I felt would be the best value blue dial diver for my style. All roads led to this Maen Hudson with it's smaller size at 38mm, it's vintage-inspired case shape and domed sapphire crystal, and it's unique sandblasted midnight blue dial which can look deep navy in low light or almost a muted medium gray blue in bright direct light (and the anti-reflective coating adds a nice flash of iridescent blue when it catches the light at the right angle as well). I think this size is exceptionally good for a wrist from 6" all the way up to 7.25" or so. On bracelet it wears ever-so-slightly smaller but remarkably similar in size and comfort to my pre-ceramic 39.5mm no date Submariner due to the lug-to-lug and thickness being similar (although the Maen midcase is thinner and wears closer to the wrist). For reference, if you've owned or worn a Hamilton Khaki 38mm watch then this wears slightly larger than that (I own a Khaki 38 as well) due to the domed crystal and the bracelet. I only recently got this watch and it REALLY surprised me, however an opportunity just pop up for me to snag a grail, so I have to sell a few things to fund that. Most I'm fine letting go but this one I'm sad to see leave. Had it not been for a chance to get a watch I've wanted for quite some time I'd not be letting this one go. Watch is in fully operational order and mechanically perfect. Movement winds smoothly, crown screws in and out smoothly, bezel operates as it should. Comes with Maen inner and outer box as well as white box sleeve, Maen card and hangtag, Maen cleaning cloth, and unworn Maen black nylon NATO strap. Watch is sized for ~6.75" wrist and comes with all extra links that were included from new. Please see photos for cosmetic condition details and please excuse any dust or fingerprints. Watch has barely been worn and upon close examination I don't see any major dents or dings. There are some very fine hairlines present mainly on the bracelet clasp and I tried to capture this as best as possible in the photos, however they are very light and it was difficult to photograph.
I am a hobbyist, not a watch dealer, and I don't often sell my pieces, but I do have 100% feedback on all major online channels for all my seller transactions including here on Watchuseek.
