The Omega Constellation was introduced in 1952, and for decades was one of the best selling and most popular of chronometer-rated automatics. The 24 jewel calibre 561 chronometer movement is recognized as one of the finest production chronometer automatic movements ever made. Here's the details on this classic chronometer automatic from one of the most recognized marques in fine Swiss watches: OMEGA (14k/SS Constellation Chronometer Automatic) - Excellent 34mm signed stainless steel screwback case (168.005) with 14k gold shell bezel and lugs and 14k gold "Observatory" logo on the caseback, signed 24 jewel calibre 561 chronometer automatic movement (#244760xx), adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, excellent signed original silver satin dial with raised gold markers, raised gold Omega logo and marque at 12:00 and Constellation "star" logo at 6:00, gold dauphine hands and sweep seconds, quickset date aperture at 3:00, signed original crown, JB Champion brown lizard calf strap. The serial number on the movement places the date of production of this piece at 1968. The signed stainless screwback case (reference #168.005) is in excellent condition, as is the 14k gold shell bezel and lugs. The stars are worn on the 14k gold Observatory logo. The 24 jewel calibre 561 chronometer automatic movement is adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, and is running fine and keeping excellent time. The old style quickset calendar function works as designed. The original silver satin dial is in excellent condition, and is signed, "Omega, Automatic, Chronometer, Officially Certified, Constellation, T Swiss Made T." The crown is signed, as are the case, dial and movement (4x signed Omega).
